Interesting post, Kevin. I lived in L.A. (The Valley) from January 1990 through October 2008. I often walked Lake Hollywood and also Balboa Lake. Next time you are in L.A. you might enjoy Lake Balboa. Fryman Canyon is also a great walk.
The Bowl and the Greek Theatre are two gems of Hollywood!
Agreed, the Bowl and Greek are fabulous, and I'm gonna add The Wiltern to this list! Just went to a show there, and truly a gem among L.A.'s historic theaters. Hoping to get to The Lodge Room, too. Will definitely add Fryman Canyon and Balboa Lake to my list, thank you!
The Wiltern is great too Katrina. L.A. is live music heaven in my opinion. I enjoyed catching shows often while I was living there. Fryman is a great hike and Lake Balboa is also quite nice.
I worked at the Hollywood Bowl for a couple of summers, once renting out cushions at 25 cents each. They always sold out. Hard seats back then. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane.
Haha, love that you got to savor L.A.! What a fun read! I lived in NYC and am a native NYer and couldn't wait to leave, and even now, only visit the east coast briefly. I always feel relief flying back to LAX and seeing the mountains and Randy's Donuts. Isn't it funny how a place so deeply affects us? Thanks for subscribing to L.A. Woman and sharing your Hollywood weekend!

Thank you for the great suggestions. I haven't been to Lake Balboa, Fryman Canyon or the Greek. Fabulous!
All good places that you will enjoy! There’s so much to do in L.A.

Thank you! Glad to be aboard.
Yeah it was pretty fun. We're staying in touch with who is performing at the Bowl to maybe do it again some time.
My pleasure!
