Thanks for your nice words, Jon. What I have heard is that a celebration of life ia being planned for Jume in Tahoe. I am going to post updates on this column to keep people posted. There should be stuff on Facebook too. More details to come.

That's awesome, David, and a piece of Steve's legacy that I did not know about. I'm learning a lot more about Steve and his family and his life aince writing that piece. I know he'd be touched by all the people speaking out about him now

Absolutely, Clint. Great to hear from you. Steve would be touched, I think, by how many friends and people are saddened by his passing.

My life will never be the same. I lost my rock, love and anchor.

He was the happiest man. The epitome of no bad days. I never had a day without texting, talking and being around him.

A kind honest loving man who left to young. Life will never be the same

Our family has a cabin across the street from Steve. I’ve known him my whole life. He always came by to say hi and check in. I’d see him every morning driving to work in his jeep, with his dog in the back. His passing was shocking and so sad. He was so kind and generous. I’ll always remember his smile, good spirit, and warm heart.

Beautiful and well written tribute to Steve. He built the life he desired in the cabin that our grandfather purchased 13 or 14 years after he immigrated to the United States. Steve kept childhood memories alive, for future generations, that would have vanished had he not decided to reside in Homewood!

Great write up. Thank you.

What a great man and a great friend.

Kevin do you know if/when there will be a celebration of life?

Kevin, thanks for sharing your stories about Steve. He was a good friend of mine also and someone I will miss spending time with. I'll miss his upbeat humor and all of his stories of life. I'll miss playing golf with him as we usually did several times each year. We think that our friends will be with us throughout our lives, but slowly and surely we will begin losing those who were our "partners in crime" in our youth and understood in our later lives just how much our friends mean to us.

Steve was always a part of my life from a very young age. Thank you for sharing this. I was always do happy to see his jeep pull up cause he always had some sort of candy for us and definitely Sid. He worked alongside my family and their water company and was around frequently. He also was always will to talk softball or baseball with me any time I saw him. I will absolutely miss our Santa Steve, his smile and his genuine kindness. ❤️

Thanks for touching in, Shayla. I didn't see your comment until now. "Santa Steve," that's a great name for him. And definitely, in terms of talking baseball and the Giants, we did that many times.

He bought us boxes of sees candy for Christmas every single year growing up. He always signed it Santa Steve. ❤️
